My Digital Studio Christmas Card

Stampin' Up! My Digital Studio allows me to create my Christmas/Holiday cards without having to cut the card stock. It's great! I am sometimes overwhelmed by all of the cardstock, punch and embellishment choices. I made this card using MDS this evening and later tonight or tommorrow, I will post the actual card. The digital card took me about 5 minutes to put together.

On another note, it has been raining all day. I have finally completed the literature review for my thesis - all 25 pages. I don't know that I could look at it again. Tomorrow is my last day of classes for the Fall Semester. I am looking forward to a break from my evening classes. Hopefully, I will have one more semester because I am not sure of how much more of this I can take. I would like to be able to spend all of my additional time on creating scrapbook layouts and holding workshops.

I am now off to write a lesson plan on Ancient Greek contributions to modern society...

Thanks for taking the time to read and allowing me to share.

How much do I love My Digital Studio??

Stampin' Up's My Digital Studio arrived this week. Here's the problem...I can't stop playing with it. I must admit that when I am not writing lesson plans or grading, I spend every waking minute on my computer.

I am the person who will spend hours on a simple layout. With MDS, I am able to create a layout, preview, and edit before I begin cutting and adhering paper. MDS significantly cuts down on the time it takes for me to create an original layout. While I am not an expert yet...I though I would share a very simple layout of my beloved JuJu. This Christmas will be my second holiday without her.

My camera broke

Argh, it's the holiday season and I am without a camera. What am I to do? Today, I visited Adam's Fairacre Farm for their annual holiday events. I was accompanied by my eight year old cousin, Dylan. All I could think of were all the moments I was not capturing with my beloved Canon digital camera. So, I may need to forego a couple of lunches and trips to Michael's over the next couple of weeks and purchase a new camera.

Since I don't have any new pictures to post, I thought I would share a couple pictures of ny beloved best friend JuJu and my brother's dog, Roxy the Destroyer.

Early Christmas Gift for Myself.

Each year I try to get myself a little something for Christmas. It's usually a product I have had my eye on during the year and felt too guilty to purchase without any particular reason. Last year I was fortunate enough to find the Cricut Expression on sale at Walmart. This year I am super fortunate to have found the Gypsy at Michael's for $99. As a bonus, I was also able to purchase an ATG at 50% off.

Missing my Dad, a Vietnam Veteran

In 2009, I lost my father to Multiple Myeloma, a form of bone cancer that continues to afflict many of the Veterans exposed to Agent Orange while serving in Vietnam. Diagnosed in January, he fought a valiant battle - symbolic of the soldier he was. Unfortunately, he lost that battle May, 2009. Today, I would like to honor my father's memory by sharing him with all of you, my scrapbooking family. Although it has been more than a year since his death, I still cannot find the strength to scrapbook our most special moments together. I am inspired by my father's love of life and family. He was taken from us much too soon.

I would like to share my love of scrapbooking at my local Veteran's center by volunteering to hold scrapbooking classes. I am just unsure if this would be meaningful enough to them. Has anyone done anything similar? If so, would welcome your thoughts and ideas.

Thank you for allowing me to share my Dad Victor with you today. God Bless our Veterans, our soldiers who continue to serve and protect, and God Bless our Nation.

Seeking donations for project-based learning materials for high school students with special needs.

It is my policy never to ask for anything, but today I am not asking for myself. I am a high school teacher of students with learning, behavioral and physical needs located in a high poverty area of the Bronx, New York. Donor's Choose is a wonderful program that profiles teachers and projects that are in need of funding. I am seeking nominal donations for basic art supplies in the classroom. Please spread the word. Click on my link...please feel free to read my project and ask questions. Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

Back From Vegas

So happy to be back home. I can't believe the temperature reached 114 degrees. Vegas was really nice, but most of my time was spent indoors attending classes. I hope to return soon to enjoy all that Vegas has to offer. I learned a ton on teaching students with disabilities and I am so excited to implement what I learned in my classroom. It was also great to meet so many teachers from all over the United States. I must say that I suffered through scrapbook withdrawal. It was awful. It made me realize how passionate I am about scrapbooking.

I didn't take a camera with me, but managed to take a couple of shots using my Blackberry. I walked by the Venetian - It was beautiful. It made me want to jump on a plane and travel to Italy.

Scorcher of a day.

Not much to do today since it was just too hot. Spent an afternoon relaxing after a terrific 4th of July weekend with my family. What I have come to realize is that, at 36, my body doesn't hold up as it used to. Two afternoons of playing basketball and I can barely get out of bed. I am out of shape. Anyhoo, I decided to continue reading Kitchen Confidential and realized that I was ruining the book by bending all of the pages to mark my place. So, I did what any other Stampin' Up! Demonstrator would have done. I made my own bookmark. Unfortunately, my camera died so I was unble to photograph the bookmark and post it. Hopefully I will have a new camera by tomorrow.

WELCOME!!!

Hello Stampin' Up! friends and welcome to my blog. I haven't posted in a while because I have been so busy with work, but I hope that will change beginning this weekend. The school year is over and I am looking forward to a scrappy summer.

On another note, I am looking for a crop buddy. As many of you already know, Michael's holds a crop each last Friday of the month. I plan on attending the July crop at the Newburgh store. I have never participated, but I think it will be loads of fun.

Looking forward to many more posts and thanks a bunch for subscribing to my blog.
